Course Details
PHTA – (Pool & Hot Tub Alliance) government-issued photo ID required (driver’s license; state issued photo ID; passport) certifies those persons who successfully complete the 16 hours of Certified Pool/Spa Operator® Certification course instruction and pass the examination.
The standard CPO® Certification course is taught over a 2-Day period. Class hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, on both days. The FusionT CPO® student is required to attend the 2nd day of any scheduled CPO® class, 8 AM to 5 PM. The CPO® certification is valid for 5 years
The course is designed to provide the knowledge necessary to operate and manage public pools and spas.
The Certified Pool~Spa Operator® class fulfills the local and state requirements for certification for pool service technicians as defined in many states, including Florida.

Certified Pool/Spa Operator® (CPO®) Certification Course 2 Day Class
The Certified Pool/Spa Operator® (CPO®) Certification course is a two-day course that prepares an individual with the knowledge and skills to operate a safer and healthier pool.Class is from 8 AM to 5 PM on both days. Students will need to bring a calculator, highlighter and photo ID.(driver’s license; state issued photo ID; passport).
A student will gain education on 18 chapters of pool water chemistry, water filtration, recreational water illnesses, spa maintenance, chemical dosing, break point chlorination and methods to keep employees and patrons of swimming pools safe and healthy. The class also covers the regulations, Florida Administrative Code 64E-9 and Florida Statute Chapter 514, as they pertain to the CPO® in Florida. The course cost includes the 2023 PHTA – Pool & Hot Tub Alliance Certified Pool & Spa Operator® Handbook, the exam, supplemental materials and the certification fees.
On the second day of the course, an exam is administered. This includes 50 multiple-choice questions. The exam is open book, open notes. If a student fails the exam, a retake exam will be offered. This must be taken in person within 90 days from the original test date. The location, date and time are at the discretion of the instructor and are pending available spacing in the classroom.
The class is taught in English, but the handbook and exam can be provided in Spanish or French. There is a $10 additional fee for materials in Spanish or French. Please give a 2 weeks notice to allow ample time for special order of materials. ***Must be specified at time of registration ***

CAN’T TAKE TWO DAYS OFF OF WORK?
Try the Fusion Blended Course = One day online and only one day in class!This is a blended format classroom. By registering for this option, registrants have the flexibility to take the first day online, at their desired pace, and then schedule only the second day of class.
Registrants must complete the Primer Online course prior to the scheduled class, and must bring a certificate of completion and government issued photo ID (driver’s license; state issued photo ID; passport) to class. Registrant will not be allowed to sit for the exam without Pool Operator Primer Certificate of Completion. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Online Pool and Spa Operator Training
Minimum Time to Complete: 8.5 Hours
Student will be provided with access code for online training and should receive handbook in the mail in 5 – 7 business days. This course does not provide CPO® Certification by itself.This dynamic program for pool operators, service technicians, facility managers and environmental health officials is a great stand-alone online training program or it can be the first step towards earning your Certified Pool/Spa Operator® (CPO® ) certification. The eight-lesson, self-paced curriculum covers the material found in the 18 chapters of the PHTA – Pool & Hot Tub Alliance Certified Pool/Spa Operator® Handbook, which is included with the course. Understanding fundamentals of pool and spa operation and safety reduces risk, decreases liability, and creates value for your customers.The online course includes interactive learning tools throughout, such as video demonstrations and knowledge quizzes at the end of each lesson to help with information retention. Successful completion of all eight lessons earns a Record of Completion. Students have access to the online course for a six-month period, which provides an opportunity to review the material many times. This great program brings the training to the office, home office, or wherever you need it, when you need it.
